Billy Falcon: Guestbook

Julius

May 7, 2008

Dear Billy,

Thank you for the music on Pretty Blue World. You capture the essence of life and family on that CD.

When that CD came out, I saw you, in all places, around Irvington, NJ and the show was wonderful.

Just last year, my son, now 14, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was a hard year, following brain surgery, but he is doing great. Songs like, still got a prayer and heaven's highest hill capture the hope and triumph of the body and spirit . You are a success by having that one album.

I just bought a couple of other albums, two by Rose, and look forward to hearing them.

Be well,

Julius Spada

Unlike most of your fans, I have a copy of "Spark in the Dark." Can you re-release it, or are the rights tangled? I know it isn't very commercial, but it is great music.

Billy,
It's been a lifetime ago, I believe the Summer of 91 or 92. I was head instructor at a cheerleading camp at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. You and the band were warming up for your concert that night with Stevie Nicks. I approachecd you and told you about the 500 cheerleaders I was doing a camp for and without hesitation you and the band packed up and came over to the dorm area and put on about a 45 min. set that I don't think I will ever forget. I just walked through our warehouse and heard some guy singing, I believe they said his name was Jack Johnson, point is, his voice triggered a memory of that day and it gave me goose bumps to retell my story to the guys in the warehouse. I know I bought Pretty Blue World back then and played it daily, well I'm heading to the store and buying Made Man & a new PBW this weekend, thanks for the memories! CP

hey there Billy. My uncle that has now passed away was living on the streets in kitchener about 15 or 20 years ago now.By luck he bumped into you not too sure how maybe in a bar or just meetin up with him somewhere. You gave him a copy of your demo with the greatest song on there power windows. My uncle never told us the story until oneday one of your songs came on the radio and when it did he told us the story about him meeting you and showed us your tape and ever since then i sing your song power windows almost everyday at work in the shower and as I get drunk. You rock and your music is great thanks for being the person who can remind me of my favorite uncle.

November 7, 2007

Hey Billy

I was introduced to you by Desmond Child when I was a staff writer at Sony Tree in Nashville.
I live here in Niagara Falls , Ontario and we wrote "Run To Me' and it looks like I'll be putting that tune on my next CD.
By the way , I'm performing with a couple of guys that you might know , we're doing a songwriters in the round show for "Light Of Day " here in Niagara and Joe D'Urso , Willie Nile and maybe Joe Greshuky and also my good friend Ron Sexsmith is on the show.
I'll be heading back down tro Nashville soon to hook with Monty Powell to do some songwriting .
it would be great to write a couple of songs.
Cheers Rick Rose

1970's or so, going through the used bin at Titus Oaks in Brooklyn. I always passed on Buring Rose. 20 years later I find Power Windows, man I wish I would have picked up some of that Buring Rose stuff back in the day. Music ROCKS.

I can't stop playing your Letters From a Paper Ship disc. Even better than the Pretty Blue World. Great lyrics and music. A true song writer. I hope to someday hear them in person so schedule a show in the upper midwest.

Hey Billy,
It's been a long time. You know I've been a fan since Burning Rose. Of course I'm taking all the credit for your success as the first DJ to ever give you airplay (WLIR), before the album came out..lol..I'm down in South Jersey now and want to know when you'll being playing in Philly or Atlantic City.

September 6, 2007

I had just returned from Iraq in 1991, and a "close" someone sent me a copy of "Heaven's Highest Hill". She didn't tell me who the artist was...It wouldn't take me long to find out. Maybe not the most appropriate song to hear after returning from the war. I was already emotional wreck... But I "Still Had A Prayer"...
Regrettably, over here in Wasington, Billy Falcon isn't very well known. Though my partner in the Sheriffs Office (May he rest in peace) knew who you were and we regulary listened to our Billy while patroling the roads.
I could go on, but I'll end it here by saying thanks for the passionate music and the memories that I share them with. Hope you can make it out to the Seattle area.

You know i also agree with Riley, there are only a few songs that i have ever listened to that have the ability to move me to tears, most all of them yours, I sit and just think to myself "I hope that i am blessed enough one day to have a wife that i love as much as you loved/love yours" and i cant imagine what it is like to loose someone like that, my heart goes out to you and Rose every time I listen. thanks for sharring your love, your life, faith in God, and your emotions with all of us.

I agree with Riley's sentiments regardng "Heaven's Highest Hil." I was about 19 or 20 when that song hit the airwaves, and I couldn't help but be hit by the song's emotional rawness. Now that I'm a father, it hits me even harder.

Riley

August 15, 2007

Billy,

I know this is a little late (15 years) but just wanted to thank you for writing one of the most moving songs I've ever listened to. At the time I was about 19/20 going to whatever crappy job I had during summer break from college and I heard your interview/preformance on WMMR in Philly. When you sung "Heavens Highest Hill" it actually brought tears to my eyes. I went out and bought the CD that day! There are only a handful of songs (personally) that can encite such emotion and still stand the test of time. Thank you. You know I mean it if I'm writing you 15 years later!

Health and happiness to you and your loved ones.

Must have been the late 80's. My crazy friend LOVED Stevie Nicks. She dragged me all over the NYC tri state area. but all I remember is you (and joe walsh falling off a stage somewhere) but anyway heavens highest hill was so amazing. I was at TRUMP AC and this is one of my Rock and roll memories. We never spoke, never met. But I never forgot your story. I live by Asbury Park NJ . I will be there in August .Silent and still wishing you the best, thanks for a great song

Billy,

I'm going to take you way, way back in time, almost like a time warp -
Do you remember we used to play together , you on guitar and me on drums along with Kevin Spearin ( probably not spelling his last name correct) ?
I've been meaning to write this for awhile, I wanted to let you know I really like all the songs you have wriiten for Bon Jovi ( one of my favorite bands, whenever they tour I go to their shows).
I also followed your career and saw you years ago in Tampa, FL ( this was during the time of your " Blue World ' recent release)
It brought back memories of all those days back when we played in Kevin's living room and the vibrations caused things to fall off shelves. ( talk about rocking the house!)
I have been living in FT. Lauderdale , FL. the last 24 years-I have an 18 year old daughter who is about to take off for college - I have been married for 27 years - 1 dog and 1 parrot-
I live a double life Banker by day , Rocker by night ( still playing drums!)
Those were some of the best off times, and i am glad we had those times togther -
Remember softball on Sundays afternoons?

Well enough of my rambling,
I wish you continued success and may God bless you and your daughter!

p.s.- my brother Herman also wishes you the best in alll you do!

Later,

Jimi B.

Been a long time since Pretty Blue World. Lost my cassette some years ago and never thought anything new came out. My old man and I just visited the Congressional Medal of Honor museum and I told him about "Still got a Prayer". Gave me reason enough to look up your name again, and wow... it's good to know you're still around.

Thank God for Google....I was just reminiscing with a friend of a club long gone, Circus Circus,in Bergenfield NJ. I had been a HUGE fan back in the late 70's when I was an illustration major at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. I first saw you at the Fox Theater in Hackensack (also long gone) with Robert Gordon & Link Ray. I got some really incredible shots of you on stage. Especially one of you looking directly into my camera, whaling "Sailorboy", wearing a nautical scarf.

So ...back to Circus Circus. Sometime shortly after the Fox Theater show, I went to see you at Circus Circus...with my photos. I wanted your autograph and the only place I could get your attention was in the mens room.....so I asked you while you were at the urinal. You were totally cool about it & I got the autograph.

I can't believe it has been nearly 30 years. I feel like I missed out on your incredible career and now want to get re-connected. ALOT of catching up!!!!

Thanks for such great memories of a time, long gone....Jeff

Peter Salamone

May 17, 2007

Hey Billy .... thanks very much.
Peter Salamone here --- from about a year ago!
You answered my post.

I gotta tell ya ... I'm playin' again. Have been for about 6 months. Took me a while to get the calluses back but .... I'm cookin' again. Feels wonderful!

I bought a new guitar... 1st one in at least 5 years. Damn ... they ain't cheap these days! Not for a GOOD one. Oh well ... the good ol days.
Then… the tough part came ... I had to find all those chords again. MAN ... I just turned 40. It use to be a shot of Jack would fix that. Now I'll pass on the Jack for a little Ben Gay.

The band is tight – very tight. Even when we’re loose we’re tight. – ya know.
Hell... we may be doing England / Europe, and Japan. We have some offers. BUT... the game begins again... PLUS we’re just normal guys with normal lives who happen to be damn good at what we do musically. I’m the baby at 40. Old fuckers on tour ... buy your tickets here. J

At any rate - just touchin' base and wanted to thank you for your insight. There are ALWAYS options.

Best of luck with the new album ... I mean CD... or release .... or whatever the hell it is they call them these days. I haven't heard any of it yet but I'm sure it's killer.

Thanks much man ....
Peter Salamone

You know Bill, when I think back to our days growing up in Rosedale and 8 years in St.Clares. It is positively astounding to think of the creativity that came out of Rosedale. There so many people we knew who went into one creative discipline or another. It's great! As I look down the guestbook and see the names of people I recognize it brings back so many memories. You website and music are like a channel for it all.

Hi Billy, saw you back in 1991 when you opened for Stevie Nicks. Your show was awesome. I have to tell you that my husband and I have 5 children (4 of which we just adopted) and we live in a community where high school kids have too much pocket money and drive upper model Mercedez Benz. We're struggling to live there so our kids can get a good education. I have on many occassions recited the words to your song "Power Windows" to my kids and people I know insiting that there is more to life than a big house, mag wheels and keeping up with the folks next door. Your song reminds me of simpler days when you couldn't wait to drive that old Pontiac Le Manz with the sheet metal holding the front fender together...windows rolled down and the breeze blowing through your hair. Thank you for such a powerful message. May we all never forget that which is most important in our lives....each other.

Just watched the "School of Hard Knocks" video which was after you and I parted company of course...Amazing how much material is jammed into that 4:34, it seemed like it went on for 20 minutes it was so full and rich and seeing how happy you were with Myla brought back so many memories, it was another world, another life, I remember how you thought you'd never fall in love like that, how the Word changed you and made you the man you came to be. I will always remember how special those days were, they changed my life too. Talk to me sometime.

Just a quick note here to let you know how much we are enjoying your brother's new cd; we being myself and my 3-year old son, Trey. I figured it's not everyday that Billy gets a new little teeny tiny, but really really big fan. I always play him a cd as he's going to bed at night and would you believe he is more often that not asking for Billy Falcon, actually, demanding Billy Falcon! (move over Dan Zanes)

I so very much love the slower stuff, the "raw" untainted Billy - just incredible, heart-warming, heart-burning, beautiful music. My little guy luuuuvs the faster stuff, of course, and is just crazy about the first song, Made Man, which he calls "wham wham". He rocks out to it everytime! We've come to agree on Happy Hour as a mutual favorite, which I can't help but think this would/should/could be a huge hit, kind-of like Garth's: Friends in Low Places... it's got that same vibe, but way better.

I'm keeping an eye out at Billy's tour schedule (currently empty), hoping to see him sometime this year in Nashville, as Nashville is now the choice spot for my and my friends annual "gals trip".

I love all of Billy's music and now Rose's. Last summer my son helped me find your website and I got Burning Rose, Released, and Songs About Girls. It was so great to hear those. I still have the first three records up to Falcon Around (please get that on CD along with Billy Falcon). Anyway what I 'm saying is , BIG FAN. I went to the August release party at John' s house. Thank you for just a great great day. Of course I got Made Man and I can 't believe no major label has this cd (maybe next one?) I brought my wife and 14 year old daughter, we all had a great time. John, thanks for suggesting Billy sign my cd cover and thanks for having us at your house. I tell everyone I know about the Falcones. Be proud, you are a great brother!

Many thanks and keep this website going.

I was a freshman in Highschool when some older guys introduced Billy's Burning Rose to me and some of my buds. We loved that album and it was unplayable (scratched) by 1986. I still know all the words and can't wait to hear it again. I had searched for a download over the past few years and no dice. Glad you now have CD version available.

Gazing out at the water just skippin rocks.

Be well,

was in High School when I bought Pretty Blue World, have every album since and just recently bought Haunted Guitar through Itunes. Billy your songs have been an integral part of my life-highlights are Cold Hard World and Adios!!! But the slow songs are the best as well. Keep writing and releasing stuff!

I read about your site on one of the bobice sites, so I listened to a couple of your songs..Brick Off The Bridge...I love! Also like Sugar. Great songs and you sound great. I love Bo Bice and would also love to hear him sing those. That guy has some charisma.

Forgot the forum was closed down but just wanted to say that this music never gets old. Pretty Blue World is as fresh now as it was the day I bought it back inthe summer of '91. Hopefully there is more on the way because Made Man is amazing and obiously you are just hittin' your stride!!

I just ordered the album Pretty Blue World. I remember having a copy of the audio tape years ago, but I lost it. An ex-girlfriend of mine borrowed it in college. After we broke up I never got it back. She was worth it and I hope she liked it. I happened to come across this site this evening and while I don't usually buy music online I just had to. Your album Pretty Blue World just filled me with emotion and memories. I can't wait to hear it again.
Sincerely,

January 3, 2007

Thanks for the years of wonderful music. I first heard you in 1992 when "Pretty Blue World" was released. I had just lost my 26- year old husband in a a car accident and remembered how it felt to tell my then 4- year old daughter that her daddy had passed. We played your song at the funeral...it seemed very tragic then , but it isn't so bad now. Rose must be "Gracie"- she is stunning and very talented. My daughter, Sarah, is now 19,and her then 1yr old brother, Danny, Jr is 16. I think we have worn out at least 3 cassettes and numerous CD's. Made Man is awesome- got it on iTunes. Keep it up and hope to see you somewhere around New Orleans or the Gulf Coast maybe someday? Shalom.

Billy- Since the late 80's I have listenedto your music. My dad introduced it to me and I have often thought of you and Rose since. I don't know why someones music just "clicks" but yours did the moment I heard it. A friend of ours used to be a musician and he would sing your songs to us and now I play Pretty Blue World to my 8 yr old daughter and my 5 yr old son. I'm glad to see that you're still making music and THANK YOU for sharing your gift so that I can sing your songs with my kids- Rose is gorgeous! My daughter wants to be an artist and singer and I showed her this website and Rose. When I was a young girl I loved to sing and now I can share it with my daughter- We often have a band in our living room and my son said a prayer for you and your daughter when we danced to Heaven's Highest Hill- It was quite a site- Now as a Parole and Probation Officer I bring your CD to work- We need some peace and beautiful music- Ugh-

Thank you, thank you, thank you-

Mr. Falcon,
My brother and I absolutely love your music! It's great to see so much talent out of one creature. Your albums along with your collaboration with such great performers as Bon Jovi is inspiring. I am a singer/songwriter myself and truely admire great talent. Mr. Falcon, Thank You again for the music!

Billy,

This might sound a little strange but my girlfriend worked at a radio station in TX in the early 90's and brought one of your cassettes home to me and I basically wore it out. Later, it was stolen from me. I had long since lost the girlfriend as well and have been trying to locate you ever since. Today, I typed the words "I guess I'm just not funny anymore" into a search engine and finally found you. Your lyrics from this album still randomly pop in my head (as they did today). I just purchased all of your CDs and I'm so glad that you are still producing music. I look forward to enjoying your music (without me having to sing it) once again.

Sincerely,

Chip Joslin

Billy, great meeting you last night at 12th & Porter. Meant it when I said even without Bon Jovi last week I would have walked away from your show knowing I heard the best music I have listened to in years. The poetry and passion was awesome. Rude of me though to complement you and skip over Rose's show. I expected great, and she was even better !!

Hello from good old Europe! Thanx for being a source of inspiration to me since 1991. I have a little daughter of my own now and often find my feelings reflected in your songs. "Songs about girls" happened to become a hit record among my colleagues in our trauma surgery department and we just ordered the new album through your site! Best wishes from sunny Muenster and thanx so much for sharing your music with us through your CDs!

Hey Billy, I'm a big fan of yours. I just ordered your new Cd from your site. Back in 1991 I saw you live in Chicago with Richie Sambora on his solo tour at the Riviera Theater. I was front row and have great photos, let me know if you are interested, I'll send them to you. Last year your daughter Rose came to Bourbonnais, Illinois and played a church right near my house. To this day I regret not knowing about the show. I found out you were there and performed(you were almost in my backyard). My wife and I would have bought you two dinner and gave you some pics from your show. Please respond if you find time. Sincerely, Mark Viers.........a true fan of your talent!!!!!!!

Someone recently introduced me to your song "Power Windows" and now I'm anxious to hear the rest of your music. I love the sound of your voice and the genre of music. The lyrics are so profound and inspirational. God bless you, Billy. Keep on making music!

Johhny, Billy is very fortunate that God blessed him with your presence in his ministry; Blood is Thick! God Bless You. I just read the guestbook and got a little misty eyed,,,,,,,I read the RULES for the House Show, then, took a break and thought about it a bit. I will call you in the morning and discuss the details . I don't want to rob these wonderful people of the opportunity to win such an Honor! I think we'll just approach the Home Show here in coastal South Carolina, for South Santee Aquaculture, Inc. with -Billy and Rose-and-Johnny- as a "business" party...Tax Deductible...We'll dicuss calendar dates, accomodations and the rest tomorrow. Nice job on th e site! GB...David

John--Thank you so very much for inviting me to your very beautiful home on Sunday....and showing off your great cars. There was such a wonderful group of people there....and a great vibe. It was my great pleasure to finally meet, you, Billy and Rose...and everyone else.
It was so great to see the show at poolside.....and Billy's Gibson Jumbo Guitar sounded so resonant also. I hope that they play at Eleanor Rigby's again before the end of the year.....a Saturday night would be great.
My daughter Carol...the Bon Jovi fan....really appreciated the autographed copy of Billy's CD that included Jon and his band on it. ..now...about that almost dead bird......lol...
Thanks again very much to you and your family for a very enjoyable Sunday evening.....

John, Got my copy of "Made Man "the other night, it's been playing non-stop since Saturday Morning. Also love "Released" and I was really Surprised at How GREAT! the Burning Rose CD is. It has that early jersey shore sound Like early Springsteen,Early Jukes,Lance Larson. Has anyone ever compared Billy's sound with Graham Parker? Anyway, I am lovin it. There has got to be a record label for This guy. These songs deserve to be heard.
John , we do have a good friend who lives in Paris, Maybe he could help with the overseas tour.
See ya Later,

Kevin Dettlinger
