Sailorboy
(Billy Falcon)
Drifting along on a cheap rubber raft
In the middle of the ocean out there takin’ a chance
All the big boats were passing pushin’ me around
Like a slap in the face, how much can I take?
I was just floatin’ kind of drifting away
Didn’t care about time, I was free for the day
Out in the cool water sorta checkin’ out the world
Out for a swim with my three day-dream girls
Along side me pulled a blondie in a fifty-foot yacht
She said “do you mind if I join you, I’m so very hot”
Well she dove from the deck, fallin’ to sea
Like an angel from heaven, falling to rescue me
We swam for a while, I didn’t say a word
She said “follow me aboard!”
I couldn’t believe what I heard
And then she told me, she said “hey there Sailor boy,
put away that rubber toy, come on and follow me aboard”
And then I told her, I said “hey, hey I can’t believe it,
hey, hey I can’t believe it, hey, hey I can’t believe my eyes”
Well we cruised all night and we cruised all day
She held me tight and then she asked me to stay
I said “I’ll be leavin’ tomorrow, I’ve got a rock n’ roll band”
She started laughin’, started squeezin’ my hand
She said “we’re goin’ to California, leavin’ yesterday
We’re on our way to California so you might as well enjoy it, babe
because you’re goin’ anyway, you’re goin’ anyway”
well it could’ve been worse, of that I’m really sure
she could have broken up my sunglasses and tied me to the floor
instead she kissed away the pain and when it started to rain
She covered me like a blanket, is she in love or insane?
